As long as people lived in a closed, pictorial space, 
visual space, there was no problem about calling 
people to dinner or to meals. They’d sit down 
together. Not now. You cannot get a family of kids 
and parents to sit down at the same time. They 
decentralize: they go all over the house; they invent 
incredible excuses for not coming to the dinner 
table. In the same way they won’t go on vacations 
together, they won’t form into a single space
